Expand your view

Originally uploaded by shareedavenport

In all of your business endeavors, always remember your physical set of eyes, as well as your spiritual set of eyes.

With your physical eyes you see the material world and act accordingly, based on what you see. Typically, this is the set of eyes we use when we plan and take actions in our businesses.

But, as we all know, there is more to life than the material world.

With your spiritual eyes, you can see beyond appearances. Instead of allowing appearances to determine what you think is real and reacting to it, you can decide what is beyond the appearance and calmly continue to invoke what you choose. This practice permits the real you to come forth.

Every time you choose to act from a balanced perspective of both material and spiritual, every time you invoke rather than react, every time you choose love over fear –you get closer and closer to the real you and the real world. By doing so, you cause a change in what you see.

As you align more and more with the real you and the real world, this higher reality will permeate and expand all aspects of your business,

and your life.

Walking the Line

On one hand, you want to stay deeply in touch with your inner self – the part of you that has a philosophy about what you want to do and who you want to be. On the other, you want to run a successful business.

An intangible part of you – your spirit – is trying to work with a tangible part – your business sense.

Unfortunately, some advice that’s currently available about those two parts seem to be contradictory.

If you want a healthy spirit, the advice is as intangible as the spirit itself. You might be told to get in touch with your inner desires, or to spend time meditating, or to try new experiences.

There are no guidelines and no rulebooks. There is no way to measure whether you’re doing “well” except by paying attention to how you feel.

If you’re trying to create a thriving business, however, the advice is often nothing but measurements. You have files to complete and to turn into the appropriate addresses, checkboxes to mark off, linear paths to goals. You’ll often see business books that suggest 7 steps or 12 steps – it’s easy to tell whether or not you’ve achieved the goal laid out in each chapter.

Business success is about achieving something tangible – spiritual success is about achieving something intangible.

Running a business where the intangible and the tangible coexist is today’s challenge.  The good news is there are more and more people talking about how to do this.  It takes a community to make it happen and a vision to shift the consciousness of business.

Tell us about how you are doing it or how someone you know is.

We will keep you posted here about people who are walking the line with grace and ease.

Unconditionally Delight Your Customers

If you’ve ever actually seen a naturally sourced spring, you know exactly how magical it is. Water simply bubbles up out of the earth; there’s no drilling and no need to extract or purify it. It’s a free gift from nature. The spring burbles along regardless of whether anyone is there to drink from it. It’s a profound metaphor for unconditional love, which is why it’s a perfect way to describe the kind of relationship you want to have with your customers.

In simpler times (and in some parts of the world, even today), civilizations only sprang up in areas where there was fresh running water. A spring was a source of life, and people wanted to crowd around that source.

If you become a source of great joy, delight, and necessity to your customers, they will want to spend as much time as possible near you. You give them something that makes them feel good, powerful, and alive. That’s a powerful gift and they will reward you with intense loyalty.

You create loyalty between yourself and your customers by giving them something that makes them feel good. You create infatuated loyalty when you unconditionally give them something beyond what they expected.

If you provide a product, make sure the product has an element that brings them some benefit they can’t get anywhere else. If you offer a service, make sure that service makes them feel nurtured and attended to in a way they don’t want to live without. By giving them a never-ending source of gratification, you create a bond with your customers.

Learn to give unconditionally and your customers will never waver from your side.

Be the Guiding Light

Though pretty much everyone wants to be a force for good, few have seriously questioned themselves on what exactly that means. It’s not surprising; figuring out who you are at your core in relation to your business can seem a difficult task.

But, formalizing your core values and beliefs is an essential part of creating a business that is a force for good. When things start moving quickly and decisions need to be made, your core values and vision are your guiding light.

The guiding light you hold consistently presents to the world who you are at your core and that you love this core. It is essential that you lovingly present the core of yourself; otherwise, it will be impossible to ask others to love you and what you are doing.

Take a moment to ask yourself some leading questions about the guiding light of your business. If you’re not in a reflective space right now, you may want to come back to this exercise later when you have some time to put real thought into it. So consider…

What/who is most important to you in the world?

– Why did you choose to get into this particular business?

What values (e.g., trust, honor, love, and hospitality) are most important to you?

– When was the last time you were a powerful influence for good? What elements were involved in that situation?

– In your wildest dreams, what legacy would you like to leave behind?

Use your answers to these questions to establish a brilliant and inspiring core business ideology. It may shift and change, and that’s okay. You will probably rewrite your business ideology multiple times before you settle on a version that seems right to you. Be sure to include what influence you would like your business to have and what values you would like your business to personify…

and Shine On.

Spreading Love Around the World (What the Hell ~Hafiz)

The
Real love
I always keep a secret.

All my words
Are sung outside Her window,

For when She lets me in
I take a thousand oaths of silence.

But,
Then She says,

O, then Spirit says,

“What the hell,
Why not give the whole world
My Address.”

May you have a merry-love -filled Christmas.

Make Love to the World with your Strategy

Originally uploaded by ~Mina~

When you speak, plan, and act your business into being you are accessing your highest creative self and then yoking it into reality. Your heart or love center is where it comes together. It could be said that the vision you have of your business comes from a divine source, then you, as an instrument of source, create into the field of business. When you create into the field of business you are in a matrix where lots of people before you, now, and in the future will be creating and playing. Your strategy sets your boundaries of the field and helps you to blissfully play and not get caught within rules and consciousness that are not useful to you. The way to do this is to design your strategy (or plan) from a framework of making love to the world.

Making love to the world in this context is about making love from your heart center, while accessing sexual energy.  Sexual (love) energy is the primal and creative energy of the universe. All things that are alive come from sexual energy. In animals and other life forms, sexual energy expresses itself as biological creativity. All life, all expression, all flowering is basically sex energy. In any situation where we feel attraction, arousal, awakening, alertness, passion, interest, inspiration, excitement, creativity or enthusiasm, in each of these situations, sexual energy is at work.

Whenever we feel these states of awareness, we put it in our attention to create our strategy. It is this sexual energy source, that we then yoke into experience with business transactions and keep alive in our awareness with strategy implementation. This is the act of creating a friendship (or union) with vibrant energy and making love to the world with it; thus elevating the stream of life and the matrix of business to new heights.

Within the matrix of business there are a few general rules to adhere to and play by –anything beyond these general rules have been created by others.  Unless you design your own rules and measures of success, you will be doomed to play by the rules and measures of others. Bliss, carefreeness and playfulness are the essence of sexual energy in its most refined state –maintaining this essence is the number one rule when love is the bottom-line.

Secret to Biz Success is On-Line Community

Originally uploaded by NaPix — Hmong Soul

Fundamentally, community to me means hanging out with people who like me and I like them. Naturally, you know what one another does for a living and, if appropriate, refer and suggest and help out each other.

Thanks to the internet we have offline, as well as access to online global community. I agree with Glen Stansberry, cofounder of LifeRemix blog network, that the secret to being a successful entrepreneur is: understanding you need community – yes, and I would take it a step further and say that these days we NEED on-line community. Following is a summary of his recent post on awake@thewheel.

You need help from other people. People who will challenge you and lend you a hand when needed. People who will expand your horizons with their expertise or particular walks of life. Thanks to this thing called The Internet, you can find people and groups to help you in almost any field and variety.

Forums, Google groups, open source projects… there are literally limitless options for finding a community.

Community helps us fill in those little cracks in our life that we can’t fill ourselves.

I dare you to find a successful person that did it “all on their own”. Everyone (yes, even Steve Jobs) has had people in their lives that bring the best out of them, both professionally and personally. Finding and surrounding yourself with these people is going to be critical to your success.

Community also gives us a chance to give

There’s nothing better than receiving and giving. It’s important to note that asking for help is just as important as giving. Oftentimes people feel like they’re being a burden by asking for help. But other people need a way to give back their talents and resources too.

So if you really want to skyrocket your career, find a community to be a part of.

If you can’t find one, then start one within your niche. (All you have to do is ask.) There’s always something you can provide. If anything, you can be encouraging and supportive. (Sometimes the thing a community needs most is more cheerleaders.) The important thing is to just get involved. No man (or woman) is an island.
