Walking the Line

On one hand, you want to stay deeply in touch with your inner self – the part of you that has a philosophy about what you want to do and who you want to be. On the other, you want to run a successful business.

An intangible part of you – your spirit – is trying to work with a tangible part – your business sense.

Unfortunately, some advice that’s currently available about those two parts seem to be contradictory.

If you want a healthy spirit, the advice is as intangible as the spirit itself. You might be told to get in touch with your inner desires, or to spend time meditating, or to try new experiences.

There are no guidelines and no rulebooks. There is no way to measure whether you’re doing “well” except by paying attention to how you feel.

If you’re trying to create a thriving business, however, the advice is often nothing but measurements. You have files to complete and to turn into the appropriate addresses, checkboxes to mark off, linear paths to goals. You’ll often see business books that suggest 7 steps or 12 steps – it’s easy to tell whether or not you’ve achieved the goal laid out in each chapter.

Business success is about achieving something tangible – spiritual success is about achieving something intangible.

Running a business where the intangible and the tangible coexist is today’s challenge.  The good news is there are more and more people talking about how to do this.  It takes a community to make it happen and a vision to shift the consciousness of business.

Tell us about how you are doing it or how someone you know is.

We will keep you posted here about people who are walking the line with grace and ease.

Shift Your Business Perspective

What if your business could create happiness, love, and purpose with the same agility and certainty that it creates expanding profits, new customers, and new innovations? It’s a question that isn’t often asked in business, because intangible qualities like love aren’t easily measurable (and measures are the language of business). Most people don’t believe the tangible, everyday needs of business coexist with the intangible.

Oh, but they do.

The truth is just because the current language of business does not acknowledge intangibles, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

Your business is an embodiment of who you are and what you believe – every time you expand your business, you also expand the knowledge and empowerment of yourself. When you are fundamentally coming from a place of love and purpose, you automatically are shifting your perspective of business.

When your business blends with your own personal philosophy, decisions become easier. You are able to access support not typically considered in traditional business models. Goals are set and achieved without struggle. Your strategies are driven not just by necessity but by passion. Your focus never wanders. You walk forward with absolute certainty that you are supporting the highest good. Not only does your business become a channel for success – it becomes a channel for your expanded inner self and an expanded model of what it means to be doing business in today’s world.

The Law of Receiving: 3 ways to create the space to receive

Following are three easy ways you can let the universe know you are ready to receive:

1) Make it as easy as possible for the universe to deliver

The universe will try to find a way to get you what you want even if you sit at home with your wish. Someone might just knock on your door and that’s the person or client of your dreams. But that may happen after a while, say, ten years time.

So it is better to really open up to all the possibilities of getting your desires manifested. You should truly show to the universe that you are ready: brighten up, create a business a plan, go out to meet your future partner & clients.

2) Have the right mindset

Make sure you have no limiting beliefs left in you that might prevent you from getting your desires.

Deep down, for example, you may feel that money is actually bad, or that it makes people worse off or that you are not ready to be wealthy.

Deep down you know that with wealth comes much bigger responsibility and you might not be ready for that. Yet you are not willing to bring this fact out of your unconscious mind. So you get all kinds of problems and situations preventing you from the free flow of abundance.

If this is the situation you are in, you should remember that these limiting beliefs are all created by you and they can be overcome. However, you will need to really question yourself about what kind of limiting beliefs may be holding you back.

Or you can use another method for eliminating limiting beliefs, which are positive affirmations. Affirmations should be repeated daily and you should select a completely opposite statement to that of your current limiting belief.

3) Be specific

When you know exactly what you want, the universe can create definite plans as to how the thing that you want will manifest in your life. So if, for example, you want to manifest a house, then you should know where the house will be located, how many rooms it has to have, how the garden will look like and so on. You should see it as clearly as you can in your mind so that it would look real to you already.

When you are specific about what you want, you clear up your vibration and therefore you emanate the vibration to attract that specific thing in your life.

Examples of how you can use the law of receiving

To manifest money – be ready and expecting all kinds of income sources, people giving you money and finding money on the street. You should say to the universe: ‘I am completely ready to receive plenty of money into my life’ and be happy and truly ready to receive it.

To be happy – say to the universe that you are completely ready to receive happiness and be aware that it can come at any time. Look out for clues and signs of happiness so that you would know that you are on the right track.

To become focused/goal oriented – every day write in a notebook (or a separate gratitude journal)how grateful you are for the universe for your ability to become better and better at focusing and accomplishing goals. This acts as an affirmation and starts a change in you.

Final observations and advice on the law of receiving

When you do not notice the results of your intention, do not get frustrated. Sometimes it takes time for your desire to manifest, and that is absolutely normal. You should keep being ready no matter what you do because your desire can reach you at any moment.

When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. The same applies to the law of receiving. As soon as you are completely ready to receive your desire, it will come in no time. As if it was always there, just waiting for you to be ready.

3 Energy Clearing Tips for the New Year

I recently had the opportunity to facilitate an Energy Patch Ceremony (EPC) with a client (an hour-long ceremony based on James Endredy’s work, found in his book Beyond 2012).

Fundamentally, the EPC is about creating an energy patch for everything that drains you and/or takes away your attention. The energy patch allows you to focus on the business at hand, while at the same time organizes you towards eliminating energy drains in perfect timing on the physical plane.

The New Year represents not only a time to embrace our ideals and aspirations for the future, it is a time to let go of old energies which may be lingering to make way for the new. The start of a New Year presents an opportunity to turn our attention to the energetic remnants lingering from the past for a fresh start of the new year.

The following 3 tips (excerpted from Christan Hummel’s best-selling book, the Do It Yourself Space Clearing Kit) will empower you to sweep out the old and make way for the new:

1.  Ceremony : Ceremony is a time when we honor life, the seasons, and those aspects of living beyond the physical. It brings us in touch with the worlds beyond our everyday, and reminds us of a vastness of Life beyond our immediate attention. Make time for ceremony in your life and you will open a doorway into another dimension beyond this one allowing fresh new ideas, inspiration and energies to flow into your business.

It could be a simple ceremony like a ribbon-cutting ceremony to initiate new energies, or popping of the champagne cork to signify the bringing in of the New Year. Whatever the ceremony, when you do it with intention and awareness that ceremony heralds in the energies of your intention in a much more profound manner than when we simply and perfunctorily perform the same act.

2.  Consciousness : Where we put our consciousness, we put our life energy. Find the aspects of your business where you have vacated your consciousness; those “dead zones” that you pretend are not there, or wish weren’t. For some people it could be tax returns that are not completed, old business relationships that went sour and have remaining bitterness, or simply letting go of worrying. Put your consciousness into that energy, with intention, and yes, even ceremony, and notice the MAGIC that happens when you do! Energy flows where attention goes!

3.  Cycles : There is a rhythm to Life, a time for growth, and a time for death. Cycles are important to observe: moon cycles are often used for planting, cutting hair, beginning new projects. Similarly, observing the cycles of the sun of day and night, being more active during the daylight hours, and winding down in the evening when there is less energy available. As well there are the larger seasonal cycles, solstices, equinoxes, and the times in between them (what the Celts called the cross quarter days.) When we are in tune with and align consciously with these cycles of nature, the rhythm of Life, we find more harmony and balance in our lives.

The season of Winter is a natural time to go inside–hibernate in the cave like the bear–reflect, pull our energies inwards, a kind of death to the old, so that we can go forward in the Spring with new energy and enthusiasm unencumbered by the past. Then, beginning on Feb. 1st (Ground Hog’s Day) we enter the cycle between the Winter Equinox and the Spring Equinox, a time traditionally honored by the Celts as the time to plant the seed of the new idea so that it may sprout in the Spring. When we follow these cycles, we harness the Life energy of the planet begin to dance to the same beat of Life. So by paying attention to the cycles of Life, we begin to work with them to receive the gift of their energy.

As these tips demonstrate, we can dramatically clear and shift our energies; providing sanctuary to reflect our highest intentions and dreams (read all 6 Feng Shui Space Clearing Tips).

1:Look into the mysterious 2:Integrate 3:Flow

Look for the mysterious in life. Wherever you look – in the white clouds, in the stars in the night, in the flowers, in a flowing river – wherever you look, look for the mystery. And whenever you find that a mystery is there, meditate on it. Meditation means: dissolve yourself before that mystery, annihilate yourself before that mystery, disperse yourself before that mystery. Be no more, and let the mystery be so total that you are absorbed in it. And suddenly a new door opens, a new perception is achieved ~Osho

When you are attempting to implement, tweak, or develop a growth plan for your business, the first step should always be checking into the mysterious. Checking into the mysterious means looking beyond your first impressions, viewing your business holographically and moving beyond the boundaries of making “typical” business decisions. In this way you access and integrate new perceptions into action and suddenly …all flows.

We are all Shamans Sharing Sacred Space

Originally posted 8/2009 ~In order to heal, Shamans routinely permeate boundaries; boundaries of mind and body, boundaries between consciousness and sub-consciousness, space and time, people and circumstances, humans and nature, and between matter and spirit.

Shamans show us that what we experience as our separate self is illusionary – they teach us to give birth to a truer sense of who we are and to recognize our connection to all things.  When we recognize our interconnectedness, we make business decisions from a holistic vs a compartmentalized view.

On the world stage, we are going through a collective shamanic healing process, a genuine death/rebirth experience. As Paul Levy, writes “our species and its civilization are currently in the throes of a collective nervous breakdown. If what we as a species, are doing to ourselves (destroying the biosphere, the very life-support system of the planet, to use one example) isn’t collective madness, then what in the world is? Our underlying institutionalized and incorporated structures that are helping to keep us asleep are breaking down and coming apart. The false, illusory separate self, which experiences ourselves as alien from one another is dying as is the fundamental framework by which we relate to each other and the world. As we recreate ourselves we awaken to our deep interconnection and interdependence with each other and all living beings.”

Interconnection and interdependence awakening are transcendent boundary breakers. Recreating ourselves and redesigning business frameworks from this expanded space is exciting…..and challenging. Relying on our innate Shamanic abilities such as going within, deep listening and relying on intuition will assist us in meeting the challenge. As awakening evolves, we come to recognize that we are all Shamans sharing sacred space. (Edited post from August 2009)

10 Principles for Shifting Business-as-Usual

On the world stage, we are going through a collective healing process ~ a genuine death/rebirth awakening experience.  Our underlying institutions and financial structures that help to keep us asleep are breaking down and coming apart.  We are shaking off the collective madness that it takes to destroy our environment.  The false, illusory separate self, which experiences ourselves as alien from one another, is dying.  The fundamental framework by which we relate to each other and the world is being recreated. We are awakening to our deep interconnection and interdependence with each other and all living things.

Business is a far-reaching, powerful vehicle through which to apply conscious practices based on basic tenants that we are all connected and that our well-being is the well-being of all.  The following Ten Principles applied to the creation, maintenance, and evolution of a business entity assist in the conscious awakening and rebirth of “business-as-usual” and shift attention to love as the ultimate bottom line:

Love is the Bottom-Line Principles

1.   Business is a vehicle thru which to manifest our creative dreams.

2.   We are ourselves creations.  And we, in turn, are meant to design new creations.

3.   Our creative dreams and yearnings come from a divine source.  As we move towards our dreams we move towards our divinity.

4.   The ability to create is a gift to us.  Using our ability is our gift back.

5.   As we open our creative channel, many gentle but powerful changes are to be expected.

6.   It is safe to open ourselves up and give attention to greater creations and possibilities.

7.   As we open ourselves, we are present to deep interconnection and interdependence with each other and all living things.

8.   We understand that our well-being is the well-being and joy of everyone.

9.   Actions to be taken and transactions to be made are by-products of our focus on joy and sacred connection.

10. Our day-to-day experience of business is the experience of the ecstasy of love.
